TRIPLE
HORSE PLAYS BALL
The 50x48x18
control room, which features four tiers of computer
console workstations, 40 monitors, and 3 large plasma
screens, was built at the Triple Horse scenic shop.
It took eight carpenters over six weeks to construct
and was so huge there were only a limited number of
stages in the South that could accommodate it.
Original music for the open, which includes a portion
of Stevie Wonder's song "Higher Ground," was
provided by Run DMC, who also ran mission control and
launched the basketball to begin the big game.
"The scope of this project
was enormous," says John Hembree of Triple Horse.
"In addition to traveling across North America
to shoot the players, it involved multiple night shoots
with over twenty actors and hundreds of extras and took
several months to complete. And it's all crammed into
a very exciting 50 seconds."

for yourself Tuesdays on TBS.
