CLICHÉ
Atlanta, GA- With well over ten years of directing to his credit, Karl Horstmann, owner of Triple Horse Entertainment, has written, produced, and directed his first short film, Cliché. According to Horstmann, the five-minute short was born out of his frustration with the numerous violent crimes being perpetrated in the metro area. "This was my chance to turn the tables," he says. "Like most people, I was tired of hearing about all the innocent victims and wanted my film to reflect our often unfulfilled hunger for justice."
The short film, which was shot in a variety of formats including film, video, and HD, tells the story of a botched robbery of a convenience store. Two armed robbers erupt into a small convenience store. After assaulting the owners and cleaning out the cash register, the two men decide not to leave any witnesses, but they are not prepared for the events that follow.
Filmed on location in the Conyers, Georgia, area, the movie features local talent, including several members of the Conyers Police Department and Mr. and Mrs. Parks, the real-life husband and wife owners of the convenience store used in the short. (next)
